Russia continues to shell the territory of our country. As a result of massive missile attacks, power outages are observed almost throughout the territory of Ukraine. We talked about how to be prepared for emergency power outages below.
How to prepare for emergency power outages?
• Prepare flashlights with spare batteries for each family member;
• Keep a supply of non-perishable food and water;
• Keep mobile phones, power banks and other electrical devices charged;
• Monitor local notification networks;
• Prepare electrical appliances and electronics in accordance with the instructions;
• Limit electricity consumption from 17:00 to 22:00;
• If necessary, make an action plan with your doctor in case of a power outage. Find an alternative way to cool medicines and power medical devices.
• If necessary, purchase an electric generator and a fuel supply;
• If necessary, pay electricity bills.
How to protect yourself during emergency power outages?
• Use food products that do not require refrigeration;
• Keep refrigerators and freezers closed;
• Monitor the use of heating devices and generators. Do not use gas stoves for heating;
• Use the generator outside the premises;
• Disconnect electrical appliances and electronics from sockets;
• Do not use elevators;
• Check your neighbors;
• If necessary, go to a public place where there is electricity;
• Do not try to restore the power supply yourself;
• Dispose of food products and medicines if the storage temperature regime is violated.
