The State Agency for Tourism Development of Ukraine has analyzed tax revenues from the tourism industry by region for 2024. Compared to previous years, there has been a significant increase in taxes from the tourism industry in most regions of the country.

Leaders in the amount of tourist taxes in 2024
1. Kyiv - UAH 982 million 20 thousand. This is almost twice as much as in 2023 (UAH 499 million 291 thousand) and exceeds the figure for 2021 (UAH 773 million 902 thousand).
2. Lviv region - UAH 439 million 978 thousand. Lviv region retains the status of a leader among the regions of Ukraine. In 2023, revenues amounted to UAH 345 million 484 thousand, and in 2021 - UAH 215 million 380 thousand.
3. Ivano-Frankivsk region - UAH 248 million 469 thousand, which is significantly more than in 2023 (UAH 138 million 842 thousand) and even in 2021 (UAH 131 million 955 thousand).
4. Kyiv region - UAH 284 million 89 thousand, which also shows an increase compared to 2023 (UAH 239 million) and significantly exceeds the figures for 2021 (UAH 125 million 376 thousand).
5. Odesa region - UAH 160 million 488 thousand, which is higher than in 2023 (UAH 98 million 845 thousand), but less than in 2021 (UAH 210 million 786 thousand).
Other regions with high tax revenues
Zakarpattia region - UAH 130 million 445 thousand (in 2023 - UAH 94 million 175 thousand, in 2021 - UAH 59 million 527 thousand).
Dnipro region - UAH 128 million 805 thousand (in 2023 - UAH 98 million 113 thousand, in 2021 - UAH 98 million 400 thousand).
Poltava region - UAH 65 million 108 thousand (in 2023 - UAH 45 million 352 thousand, in 2021 - UAH 43 million 452 thousand).
Cherkasy region - UAH 34 million 205 thousand (in 2023 - UAH 20 million 675 thousand, in 2021 - UAH 22 million 994 thousand).
Rivne region - UAH 31 million 507 thousand (in 2023 - UAH 20 million 122 thousand, in 2021 - UAH 16 million 213 thousand).

Regions with positive dynamics
Many regions of Ukraine showed a significant increase in tax revenues from tourism in 2024:
Vinnytsia region - UAH 41 million 303 thousand (in 2023 - UAH 29 million 948 thousand, in 2021 - UAH 27 million 394 thousand).
Volyn region - UAH 24 million 343 thousand (in 2023 - UAH 15 million 918 thousand, in 2021 - UAH 13 million 345 thousand).
Ternopil region - UAH 27 million 519 thousand (in 2023 - UAH 19 million 639 thousand, in 2021 - UAH 17 million 347 thousand).
Khmelnytskyi region - UAH 41 million 169 thousand (in 2023 - UAH 31 million 158 thousand, in 2021 - UAH 21 million 446 thousand).
Bukovyna - UAH 39 million 85 thousand (in 2023 - UAH 28 million 804 thousand, in 2021 - UAH 18 million 190 thousand).
Regions with a decline
Not all regions showed positive dynamics. Some regions recorded a decrease in tax revenues:
Kharkiv region - UAH 47 million 709 thousand (in 2023 - UAH 49 million 642 thousand, in 2021 - UAH 104 million 824 thousand).
Kherson region - UAH 2 million 984 thousand (in 2023 - UAH 1 million 679 thousand, in 2021 - UAH 58 million 668 thousand).
Luhansk and Donetsk oblasts showed the largest decline in tax revenues due to the hostilities, which is a 98% and 76% drop, respectively, compared to 2021.
In general, 2024 was a positive year for Ukraine's tourism industry. Kyiv, Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Kyiv, and Odesa regions showed the highest revenues. However, some regions, in particular the eastern ones, continue to feel the effects of the war, which affects the level of tourist taxes.
The positive dynamics of revenues indicates a recovery in tourism and an increase in the economic potential of the regions.
