About tour

We will visit the Maniavsky Skit, the oldest Orthodox monastery in the Carpathians, which is one of the most famous historical monuments in the Carpathian region. We will also visit the Maniava Waterfall, one of the most amazing wonders of the Carpathians. The water falls in several cascades. The waterfall flows down, dividing into 2 parts: the left part is wider and the right part is narrower. Also, our route will pass through Mount Shpytsia, despite its small height (1863 meters), it fascinates and amazes with its beauty.

Mount Shpytsia is probably the most interesting peak of all those in the Ukrainian Carpathians. Here you can see a number of unusual rocky outcrops, which in some places reach a height of 15 to 50 meters. Often in this region, the names of peaks, lakes and rivers reflect the appearance or are related to historical events for which the Carpathians are famous. The Shpytsia rocks are no exception. The giant stone mounds of natural origin resemble either pitchforks or spears from afar. Mount Shpytsi is located in the Verkhovyna district of Ivano-Frankivsk region. It is part of the Chornohora mountain range and boasts a height of 1863 meters above sea level.

Manyavsky Hermitage

The oldest Orthodox monastery in the Carpathians is one of the most famous historical monuments in the Carpathians. This monastery, which is located in a picturesque Carpathian intermountain for almost four hundred years. Once this monastery, where, as its patron wrote - Kyiv Metropolitan Petro Mohyla, "two hundred angels in the body of the living lead the way of life of God", was not only a safe haven for Orthodox monks, but also a developed cultural and economic center.

Manyava waterfall

One of the impressive wonders of the Carpathians is located in a mountain gorge. The water drops in several cascades. The waterfall flows down, dividing into 2 parts: the left part is wider, and the right part is narrower. A small lake is located at the foot of the waterfall, in which everyone can swim. The height of the waterfall is 20 m. The valley of the Manyava River near the waterfall is approximately 200 m long.

Chornohirsky ridge

The Chorna Hora Range, or as it is popularly called Chorna Hora, is very popular among tourists. It is the highest mountain massif in the Ukrainian Carpathians. Its highest point is Mount Hoverla at 2,061 m, and the total height does not fall below 1,750 m. The ridge is known for the fact that all Ukrainian two-thousands are located on it: Petros (2020 m), Hoverla (2061 m), Rebra (2001 m), Gutyn-Tomnatyk (2016 m), Brebeneskul (2032 m) and Pip-Ivan Chornohirskyi (2022 m). Lying between the Chorna Tisza and Chornyi Cheremosh rivers for almost 40 kilometres, the Chorna Hora Range separates two regions - Zakarpattia and Ivano-Frankivsk. And in 1919-1939, the border of Poland and Czechoslovakia passed along it. The border posts can be found there.
