80 thousand Ukrainians are deprived of payments in Poland: how not to lose the right to financial assistance
Refugees from Ukraine, who have found refuge in Poland since the beginning of the full-scale war, are no longer receiving aid. In October 2022, 80,000 Ukrainians on the territory of Poland lost the right to receive cash payments from the state. This is reported by Prawo.pl.
Why is the payment of cash assistance to refugees from Ukraine canceled?
Refusal to pay is related to violation of the last conditions of stay in the country. Refugees from Ukraine, who have left Poland for more than 30 days, are massively canceling assistance under the "500+" or "Family Capital Guardianship" programs.
It is noted that the social insurance of Poland decided to check the issuance of benefits for Ukrainians. It turned out that many immigrants violated migration laws and the period of stay in the country.
Ukrainians are checked on the basis of information from the border service.
The grounds for stopping aid payments to Ukrainian citizens in Poland are:
• Data from the border service register.
• Information from the recipients themselves about the occurrence of circumstances leading to the loss of the right to payments.
• Information from third parties about the departure of a Ukrainian citizen from Poland for more than 30 days.
• Summons of Ukrainian citizens to ZUS to provide proof of residence in Poland (must appear within 3 days).
Currently, Poland is working on a draft law, according to which access to information on the dates of each entry and exit of Ukrainian refugees is being considered, not only to border guards. The social center and municipal institutions also want to receive similar information.
How many Ukrainian refugees are there in Poland?
According to the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), as of the summer of 2022, 5.83 million Ukrainians are in Europe as refugees, of which 3.65 million or 63% have requested social protection.
Of all registered Ukrainian refugees, 1.22 million people (21%) went to Poland and requested social assistance there.
The Minister of Family and Social Policy of Poland Marlena Malong said, since February 24, 300,000 people who moved from Ukraine found employment in Poland.

The simultaneous stay of visitors in the hotel lobby not more than one person per 10 square meters of serviceable area is allowed.
