The big cities of Lithuania and the Lithuanian Railways have extended the opportunity for Ukrainian refugees to use transport services free of charge next year. We are talking about citizens of Ukraine and other countries who escaped from a full-scale war with the russian federation and arrived from Ukraine to Lithuania after February 24, 2022.

In order to use the free rail transport, you need to present an identity document and a registration card issued by the Lithuanian Migration Department.

As for free travel in city transport, such an initiative will operate in Vilnius, Klaipeda and Kaunas in 2023. You can also get free travel tickets if you have a registration card issued by the Migration Department.

According to the Statistics Department of Lithuania, since the beginning of the full-scale military invasion of the russian federation in Ukraine, 71,500 refugees have arrived in Lithuania, and some of them have already been able to leave Lithuania.

We will remind you! Ukrainians can use public transport for free in the capital of Latvia - Riga. Find out how to issue a travel card in our article by following the link.

Remember! An insurance policy is a guarantee of your safety and peaceful stay outside of Ukraine. In order to protect yourself from troubles abroad and to be calm for yourself and your loved ones, Visit Ukraine recommends not to delay and take out insurance online.
