In the evening of March 3, Russian invaders broke through the defenses at checkpoints on the outskirts of Europe's largest nuclear power plant - Zaporizhia NPP - in order to capture it. As of the night of March 4, President of Ukraine Zelensky urgently announced that the nuclear power plant was fired from tanks with thermal imagers - the invaders knew where they were shooting and deliberately did it for the purpose of nuclear blackmail. The hit fell on the administrative building and the first nuclear power unit. Despite constant fire from the Russian side, firefighters managed to get to the facility. Works are currently underway to extinguish the fire.

There is no information about the violation of the radiation background yet, the nuclear safety of the station is ensured. The situation at nuclear power plants remains extremely uncertain.
