Ukraine has expanded the project of simultaneous issuance of documents. Now, when applying for an ID card and a passport, you can also order a passport for your child. Here's how the new service works and where to apply.

An experimental project for the simultaneous issuance of a passport of a citizen of Ukraine and a passport for traveling abroad has been operating in Ukraine for more than 10 months.

With the help of this project, more than 200 thousand Ukrainians have already been able to use this service, which greatly simplifies the possibility of obtaining passport documents.

The State Migration Service decided to expand the service. Now, in addition to the simultaneous issuance of an ID card and a passport to persons over 14 years of age, Ukraine will also issue passports to their children under 14 years of age.

How to apply for a passport for a child?

During one visit to the Passport Service, a parent will be able to simultaneously issue not only an ID card or passport for himself or herself, but also a passport for his or her child or children under 14 years of age.

To apply for such a service for a child, you can:

 one of the parents;

 adoptive parents;

 guardians;

• or other legal representatives of the child.

The amendment was adopted on March 7 at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, but it will come into force 35 days after its publication.

After the amendments come into force, citizens will be able to submit an application to a unit of the SMS, a Passport Service Center or an ASC.

It should be noted that if a child applying for a passport is 12 years old, his or her presence is required during the application process.

We remind you! Citizens of Ukraine can apply for passport documents in the countries where the Passport Service has started operating. For more information on the locations of the subdivisions of SE "Document", the services they provide and their cost, click here.
