Many Ukrainians currently reside in Belgium and have been granted temporary protection status. How to withdraw from temporary protection status in Belgium is described below.

As you know, the A card in Belgium is a residence permit granted to foreigners from non-EU countries, including Ukrainians who have temporary protection status in this country.

How Ukrainians can cancel their temporary protection status in Belgium: instructions

There are three ways to withdraw from temporary protection in Belgium:

Personal refusal. To do this, you need to make an appointment at the radiation department in the municipality. After that, you will be able to fill out the appropriate form and receive a Modèle 8 certificat de radiation des registres de la population confirmation.

Online cancellation. You can cancel your A card online. To do this, go to https://irisbox.irisnet.be. For this process, you will need to use an ID card reader and your pin, token or itsme application.

Refusal via e-mail. To do this, you just need to send an email to your commune's email, fill out the "model 8 bis" form and attach a copy of your ID.

Keep in mind that it is impossible to cancel the status "retroactively". According to the law, a foreigner can only be deregistered on the date when the request was sent.

We remind you! National or international driver's license - both of these documents or one of them may be required when traveling by car abroad. Depending on whether the country has adopted the Geneva or Vienna Convention, the requirements for the documents that the driver must provide differ. For more information on which countries your driver's license is valid in, please follow the link.
