How to leave Poland with diia.pl and not lose protection: tips for Ukrainians

Refugees from Ukraine who are currently staying in Poland have the opportunity to travel to other countries and then return. This is stated on the official state website of Poland.
How can Ukrainians travel with diia.pl?
As you know, diia.pl is a document confirming the legal stay of persons who have been granted temporary protection as a result of the war in Ukraine in Poland and allowing them to travel within the European Union and cross its external borders.
It is the first fully digital residence permit in the European Union.

What is important for Ukrainian citizens to have and know to travel with diia.pl?
1. It is important to have an assigned PESEL number and a login and password to a trusted profile.
2. A biometric passport is required.
3. Each departure/departure from Poland should not be longer than 30 days.
4. If you have diia.pl, you can travel within the Schengen area for 90 days within any 180-day period.
5. Only those Ukrainians who arrived in Poland after February 24, 2022, will be able to obtain diia.pl.
Please note! Children under the age of 13 can cross the external borders of the European Union, as well as travel within it under the following conditions
- have a PESEL (paper version) and a biometric passport
- must be accompanied by at least one parent/trusted person who has a diia.pl (and/or other permits for free border crossing).
As you know, with diia.pl.pl, Ukrainians can travel to any country (including Turkey, Egypt, etc.) and return to Poland without hindrance, because this digital document allows crossing the external borders of the EU, not just traveling within it.
