According to the latest data, about 2 million Ukrainians permanently reside in Poland. In addition, tens of thousands of people cross the Polish border to travel to this country or to other countries.

As you know, Poland continues to support Ukrainian citizens in every way possible, so it offers many free services, from medical care to museum visits. Let's talk about the free opportunities for Ukrainians in the country below.

Free education for refugees in Poland

 The University of Warsaw for Ukraine project offers Ukrainians the opportunity to register for Polish and other foreign languages.

The goal of the project is to provide Ukrainians with the skills necessary for integration into Polish society. The curators also emphasize that they will help qualified refugees find jobs. You can currently sign up to learn Polish, English, German, and French. To register, fill out the form on this website.

 The languagesupp.org platform, together with the international foundation Save the Children, supports Ukrainian children in learning Polish. By registering on the website, a student will learn Polish for free with professional teachers. During online lessons, students will overcome the language barrier and gain knowledge that they can use in everyday situations.

It should be added that the classes are held in small groups of up to 20 people, which are formed according to the age of the children and their level of language proficiency.

 Another free language course is offered by the Clickmeeting platform. The lessons will be held for refugees who arrived in the country after February 24, 2023. Please note that registration is currently closed, but will be available again on July 31, 2023. Register here.

 In April of this year, a refugee assistance center in Warsaw was opened by the Polish Migration Forum Foundation. The center has a kindergarten where parents can leave their children for up to 4 hours. The kindergarten is open even on Saturdays from 10:00 to 14:00. Read more about the services available at the center here.

Free medical services for Ukrainians

In Warsaw, there is a medical center (Centrum Pomocy Medycznej dla Uchodzcow) where refugees can receive free services. This project is a pilot initiative of the Military Medical Institute and medics of the Armed Forces of the Kingdom of Jordan.

The center provides consultations by pediatricians, general practitioners, gynecologists, surgeons, and psychologists, as well as laboratory diagnostics. You can make an appointment at the registration office at 128 Szaserów Street, Warsaw, or by calling 261 817 852 and 261 817 865.

Free medical services are also provided in private institutions, such as the Damien Center, Lux Med clinics and the Enel-Med Center. Call the numbers listed on the websites to find out more.

Free travel for refugees

Since June last year, Ukrainian refugees have been buying tickets for public transportation. However, in some cities, the privileges have been preserved: Chełm, Dorohusk, Lublin, Hrubieszów, Przemyśl, Zagórz, Jarosław, and Rzeszów.

Only privileged categories of refugees, namely children under 18, women and men over 60, and citizens from 18 to 60 with disabilities, can travel free of charge on TLK and IC 2nd class trains.

Free admission to museums

Most museums in Warsaw have days when you don't need to buy entrance tickets.

- The Warsaw Uprising Museum is free on Mondays;

- National Museum of Technology - every Tuesday;

- Royal Castle - every Wednesday;

- Jan III Sobieski Palace in Wilanów - free admission on Thursdays;

- Museum of the Royal Baths - free every Friday;

- Museum of Sports and Tourism - no tickets required every Saturday.

We remind you! Earlier we wrote that refugees from Ukraine will be able to receive increased child benefits under the 500+ program in Poland. Find out how much Ukrainian families will now receive and how to apply for assistance in our article here.
