Ukrainian refugees with children in Poland can receive financial assistance under several programs. Find out what amounts are involved and what is required to receive child benefits
Poland pays monthly 500 PLN per child who was forced to leave Ukraine with their parents. It should be noted that from January 1, 2024, the amount will be increased to PLN 800 per child. We wrote more about this here.
We will tell you what other types of assistance are available for Ukrainians with children in Poland and how to apply for payments.
New benefits for Ukrainian families in Poland
On July 1, the Polish portal of the Ministry of Family and Social Policy Emp@tia launched applications for payments for the start of the school year, and Ukrainians can receive another 300 zlotys. Documents for payments can only be submitted online for the time being. Paper applications will be accepted starting August 1.

What other benefits for children can be received in Poland
Refugees from Ukraine can receive several types of child benefits. The available programs include both regular assistance and one-time payments:
● "Family 500+" - monthly payments for each minor child in the family. Read how to get it here.
● "Dobry Start" 300+ - a one-time payment of PLN 300 to buy school supplies for the start of the school year. We wrote more about the Dobry Start program here.
● Assistance designed to support low-income families of Ukrainians in Poland - 95, 124 or 135 zlotys, depending on the age of the child. Please note that payments are available only to those families whose average monthly income per person does not exceed PLN 674. That is, the payment is made only in certain cases, and the amount may vary. To apply, you need to contact the Ministry of Family and Social Policy in Poland.
● Payment for children in need of special care - PLN 620. It should be noted that parents who do not work due to the need to care for a disabled child can receive this benefit only if the average monthly family income per person does not exceed PLN 764.
We remind you that Poland has other financial assistance programs for Ukrainians. In particular, in 2023, refugees can apply for two new programs. You can learn more about who these payments are intended for and what is required to receive funds here.
