The Council of the European Union adopted a 10-point plan to support Ukrainian migrants.
What is planned?
✅ Creation of a European Union platform for the exchange of information on the registration of all arrivals and applicants for temporary protection.
✅ Coordination of efforts on the work of transport and information hubs for migrants.
✅ Develop national contingency plans to meet medium and long term needs.
✅ Creation of a map with the possibilities of receiving Ukrainians. Member States will indicate how many settlers are willing to accept.
✅ Development of measures to counter the exploitation of Ukrainian migrants by criminal groups.
✅ There is a separate item regarding the admission of children, including those who arrived in the EU without adults.
The EU countries also agreed to strengthen support for Moldova, where many refugees from Ukraine arrived. Some EU countries also agreed to prepare additional places where Ukrainians could move from Moldova.
A few more points of the plan relate to security. In particular, the EU is working on a common plan to counter the exploitation of refugees from Ukraine by criminal gangs.
