Gremi Personal, an international employment company and part-time think tank, recently conducted a survey among Ukrainians about employment in Poland.

We will tell you how long the majority of Ukrainians plan to stay in Poland and why they chose this country.

It is noted that the survey was conducted by electronic questionnaire from April to May 2023. The study involved about 1280 Ukrainians aged 18 to 60 who are employed in the country.

How long do Ukrainians plan to stay working in Poland: survey results

According to the survey, 57% of Ukrainians take a job in Poland for at least one year.

16% of respondents plan to work in Poland for a period of 3 to 6 months.

15% of Ukrainians are employed for a period of about six months, and 11% of people said they came to the country for a period of one month to three months.

"Before the outbreak of a full-scale war in Ukraine, Ukrainians came to Poland for a period of 4 to 6 months and then returned home to spend their earnings. Nowadays, this trend has undergone some changes: Ukrainians are now employed for a longer period of time, as they realize that due to the fighting at home, their stay in Poland will be longer. That is why Ukrainians are now more serious about finding a job in Poland and more demanding about working and living conditions," comments Anna Dzobolda, Director of Recruitment at Gremi Personal.

She emphasizes that people have started to change their specialties, learn new professions, and apply for better jobs and salaries.

"I'm sure that in the future Ukrainians will be very competitive in the local labor market," assures Jobolda.

Why do Ukrainians choose Poland for relocation?

24% of Ukrainians surveyed said that they chose Poland for relocation because of the opportunity to earn money and because of the country's geographical proximity to their homeland.

20% of Ukrainians chose Poland because their friends and relatives live there.

17% of respondents said they chose Poland because of the mental proximity between Poles and Ukrainians.

14% of Ukrainians were attracted to Poland by the high level of wages.

11% of respondents chose Poland because life in the country is cheaper than in other European countries.

9% of Ukrainians moved to Poland because of the ease of learning Polish.

5% of respondents chose to move to Poland because of the convenient processing of documents for employment.

"Currently, the Polish labor market is experiencing a growing demand for highly qualified workers from Ukraine. Every fifth request from our partners is for a top manager. This is due to the increasing number of Ukrainian businesses in Poland. These are the companies that are looking for Ukrainians to work for them," explains Lilya Tereshchenko, Deputy Director of the international employment agency Gremi Personal.

We remind you! Recently, it became known that the largest refugee reception center in Poland was closed. Read here to find out why the country's authorities made this decision.
