The period of preferential travel for Ukrainian refugees in Prague's public transport ends on September 30, 2023. This is reported by proukrainu.blesk.cz.


It is noted that starting in October, Ukrainians will buy tickets at standard fares.


Prague cancels travel privileges for Ukrainians: details


Starting from October 1, 2023, Ukrainian refugees will have to pay for public transport in Prague and on suburban routes at the usual prices applicable to everyone. This information was announced by the spokesman for the transport company Pražská integrovaná doprava (PID), Filip Drapal.


It is emphasized that from now on, the cost of public transport tickets will be:


• Monthly (30 days) - CZK 550 (885 UAH);

• Quarterly (for 90 days) - CZK 1,480 (UAH 2,383);

• Annual (for 365 days) - CZK 3,650 (UAH 5,877).

In particular, it is emphasized that there are numerous benefits for persons belonging to vulnerable categories, and Ukrainians with temporary protection can take advantage of some of them. For example:


• Children under 6 years old accompanied by adults travel free of charge.

• Children aged 6 to 15 travel free in Prague and have a 50% discount on travel in the region.

• Children aged 15 to 18 years and students aged 18 to 26 years can enjoy reduced fares in Prague and a 50% discount in the region.

• Pensioners aged 60 to 65 have a reduced fare in Prague.

• Seniors aged 65 and older travel free in Prague and receive a 50% discount on travel in the region.

• People with disabilities can travel free in Prague (except for trains) and receive a 75% discount in the region.


Preferential rules also apply to people who are currently in financial need, but Ukrainians with temporary protection are not considered part of this category.
