Tourists planning to travel to Europe in December this year are urged to be careful, as the European continent is gripped by cold weather. According to SchengenVisaInfo, snowfalls have covered most of Europe since the beginning of December. Thus, Eastern European countries, including Moldova and Ukraine, were the first to be covered with snow. After that, Germany, France, the Netherlands, Poland, Norway, Denmark, Belgium, and even some regions of Italy and Spain began to suffer from snowfall. In addition, for the first time in many years, Ireland faced sub-zero temperatures and ice and snow.

Forecast for Europe and the US: what weather do forecasters expect in December?

According to forecasters, this year's winter will change every month. At the same time, they expect the weather on the European continent and in the United States to deteriorate sharply in the coming month. Forecasters call these changes similar to waves and say that gradually cold weather will cover different regions and countries. In Central and Western Europe, the peak of frost is expected at the end of December.

At the same time, forecasters predict warming in some countries. In particular, in the UK, France, Spain, Germany, Turkey, and the Balkans, temperatures may be even higher than usual.

Why is there still a danger for tourists and what to prepare for in December?

1. Deteriorating weather conditions always affect logistics, which means delays and sometimes even flight cancellations. Therefore, tourists may face disruptions in transportation.

2. To travel comfortably in this weather, you will have to take care of warm clothes, which may ultimately affect the cost of travel, as it is unlikely to pack warm clothes in your hand luggage. Therefore, tourists are advised to purchase additional luggage in advance.

3. Deteriorating weather conditions: snowfall, ice, frost are additional risks for travelers, and therefore they are urged to take travel insurance more seriously. After all, a simple walk can turn into a serious cold due to hypothermia or an injury for a person who slips on the ice. Note that you can buy reliable travel insurance for traveling around the world on the Visit Ukraine website. Read how to choose a suitable insurance policy here.

In addition, there is an additional threat for those who travel by car, as weather conditions increase the level of danger on the roads for drivers. Therefore, to travel in Europe in winter, you need to take care of special car insurance in advance. It is worth noting that without a Green Card policy, no tourist will be able to travel freely in Europe by car. You can purchase such insurance for the required period here.

We remind you! An accident can happen at the most unexpected moment, both on the way to work and while traveling. However, people experience even more stress when they get into an accident outside their home country.
