Threatened Zelensky before his death: who was Ilya Kiva and who is behind his murder
Former Ukrainian MP and traitor to his country Ilya Kiva, who actively supported rf's war against Ukraine, was shot dead near moscow. Find out how the former MP was liquidated and what he had been doing lately
On the evening of 6 December, the russian media unanimously announced that Ilya Kiva, a former people's deputy of Ukraine and a traitor, had been killed near moscow. Later, this news was officially confirmed by the Ukrainian intelligence service. We tell you how the famous propagandist of the Kremlin was liquidated, what he was doing since the beginning of the war and who is behind his liquidation.
Who is Ilya Kiva: life in Ukraine, activities since the beginning of the war
Kiva is known in Ukraine since the beginning of the war in Donbass in 2014. Then he was a participant of the ATO and one of the leaders of the Right Sector banned in rf. Even 9 years ago, Kiva called for "burning vata" (burning russians - ed.) and shooting supporters of pseudo-referendums in the eastern regions of Ukraine, and was killed as a supporter of the Kremlin and russia's aggressive policy.
In 2019, Kiva claimed to be the head of the Socialist Party of Ukraine, where he was nominated as a presidential candidate in 2019. However, he did not succeed with the presidency, after which he joined the OPZZh party, whose leader was another traitor, Putin's crony Viktor Medvedchuk.
Prior to the outbreak of full-scale war, Kiva promoted russian propaganda in Ukraine, and he himself was a frequent visitor to moscow.
Some time before the russian attack, Kiva left Ukraine for Europe. He stayed there for a short time and decided to go to his patron, putin, in russia.
Meanwhile, Ukraine reported him on suspicion of state treason, and later a Ukrainian court sentenced the former MP in absentia to 14 years in prison.
Constant lies, propaganda and threats to Zelensky
While in russia, Kiva regularly visited propaganda TV channels, where he promoted the rhetoric of "Nazi Ukraine" and supported the war waged by moscow.
In his social networks, the former Rada MP constantly commented on the acute rumours spread by the russian media. For example, Kiva said in his Telegram channel about the death of the head of Ukrainian intelligence Kirill Budanov.
But the most ironic message Kiva left on the day of his own death. On the morning of 6 December, the traitor wrote that Ukrainian President "Zelensky will be extradited to russia or simply liquidated".
The traitor's body was found in the snow on the afternoon of 6 December in the village of Suponevo near moscow, on the territory of the Velich Country Club hotel. Kiva was found by a female employee of the hotel; there were traces of a gunshot wound on the former MP's head.
According to russian media, Kiva had been under surveillance for the past three weeks. The shooter knew the habits of the politician and caught him during another walk in the forest.
According to the rf investigative committee, in the evening in the park of one of the cottage settlements in Suponevo, "an unknown person fired shots at the victim from an unidentified weapon". From the wounds received Kiva died on the spot.
It is worth noting that the murder of Kiva almost immediately confirmed the representative of the Main Directorate of intelligence Andrei Yusov. He also promised such a fate to all traitors who betrayed Ukraine.
The Ukrainian mass media, in their turn, reported that, according to their sources, the Security Service of Ukraine was behind the killing of the former MP.
It is well known that the Western mass media repeatedly wrote that the Security Service of Ukraine was carrying out secret operations to eliminate enemies. In particular, according to The Washington Post, the Security Service of Ukraine organised the car bombing of Daria Dugina - the daughter of the far-right publicist, ideologist of the "russian world" Oleksandr Dugin, and also almost blew up the chief of the rf General Staff, Valery Gerasimov.
We remind you! Ukrainian special forces inflicted significant damage on the occupiers as part of new operations behind russian lines. What are the results of the Ukrainian fighters' attacks and how badly the enemy has been hit, we tell you here.
