We will tell you in which EU countries the number of Ukrainians is currently growing.

The flow of refugees to Europe is growing: which countries are most popular among Ukrainians

According to the latest estimates, 4 million 238 thousand people from Ukraine have already been granted temporary protection in the European Union. In particular, in October of this year, 51,845 Ukrainian refugees were granted temporary protection. These figures show a significant increase compared to the previous months, when 31,920 people were granted this opportunity in September and 41,275 in August.

The most popular countries for Ukrainians to receive temporary protection are Germany (20,465 people; +1.7%), the Czech Republic (6,490 refugees; +1.8%), and the Netherlands (4,005 people with temporary protection; +3.0%).

In particular, most Ukrainians chose Germany (1,215,365 people; 28.7% of the total number in Europe), Poland (960,620; 22.7%) and the Czech Republic (364,450; 8.6%) for temporary protection.

Which countries are Ukrainian refugees leaving?

It is noted that in October, Ukrainians left only Denmark, where the number of people with temporary protection decreased by 1700 over the month. In September, Ukrainians also left the Czech Republic, France, Poland, Slovenia, and Luxembourg.

Currently, the highest number of Ukrainian refugees per thousand inhabitants is recorded in the Czech Republic (33.7), Estonia (26.3), Poland and Bulgaria (both 26.1) and Lithuania (25.8). The average number in the EU is 9.5 per thousand inhabitants.

As for the composition of persons granted temporary protection in the EU due to the war in Ukraine, 98% of them are Ukrainian citizens. Adult women make up almost half of this category (46.4%), children 33.4%, and adult men 20.2%.
