There have been no loud celebrations in Ukraine for two years in a row, as the country continues to confront an insidious enemy that storms the combat positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and launches missile attacks on peaceful cities every day. However, Christmas and New Year are special holidays for Ukrainians, and celebrating them is an important tradition for every family. That's why, just like last year, more than 60% of Ukrainians plan to celebrate Christmas and New Year's holidays. This is confirmed by a study conducted by the Postmen communication agency.

How do Ukrainians plan to celebrate Christmas and New Year?

According to the study, the intentions of Ukrainians remain stable compared to last year. Thus, 63% of respondents plan to celebrate winter holidays this year despite the war. However, about one-third (as in the previous year), namely 37%, do not intend to do so. However, in no region of Ukraine did the percentage of those who plan to celebrate fall below 50%.

At the same time, the vast majority of Ukrainians said that they would celebrate at home (88%) with their closest people: family, significant others, and friends (78%).

At the same time, there are those who plan to celebrate outside the home. Thus, some Ukrainians will celebrate Christmas and New Year:

- traveling;

- renting a country house/apartment;

- on the street, in the city

- in a restaurant

- at the workplace;

- on the front line.

It should be noted that you can book a New Year's tour, including to the Carpathians, on the Visit Ukraine website. How much money do Ukrainians plan to spend on New Year's gifts and the festive table?

Compared to last year, the amount Ukrainians are willing to spend on gifts has increased by only 17%, excluding inflation. Sociologists attribute this to the low level of kindness in the country due to the war. Thus, in 2022, Ukrainians were ready to spend UAH 2,185 on gifts, and this year - UAH 2,560. The situation with the budget for the New Year's table is similar - Ukrainians plan to invest a very limited amount, which is on average UAH 1000.

At the same time, sweets and small souvenirs are the most popular gifts among Ukrainians. At the same time, one third of respondents said that in addition to gifts, they intend to donate. Read here how much money Ukrainians have donated to the Armed Forces so far.

And if you are looking for unusual gifts for the winter holidays, we have good news for you, as Visit Ukraine has launched a unique offer. We have already told you how to make the best gift for your family and friends for the Christmas and New Year holidays, which they will definitely remember for a lifetime. And we'll tell you a secret: such a surprise will cost you much less than buying new appliances or gadgets. You can find out the details here.

Thus, despite all the problems and challenges that Ukrainians face every day, society continues to hold on and find the strength to either preserve traditions and celebrate holidays with their families, even with a very limited budget. This really gives us the inspiration to continue living and fighting the evil and insidious enemy that has come to the Ukrainian land.

We remind you! So far, Ukraine has not punished citizens and businesses that violate the curfew in any way. However, the Parliament decided to change this. Read our previous article to find out what awaits those who disregard the rules established during the war.
