The capital of Ukraine is a major European city with a rich history and an incredible number of attractions. However, Maidan and the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra are not the only places that deserve the attention of Ukrainians and foreign visitors, so we offer you a selection of lesser-known but definitely worthy of your attention locations to visit in Kyiv on weekends or even during a regular walk.

Top places to visit in Kyiv

St. Nicholas Church

The author of this building in the center of the capital is the so-called "Kyiv Gaudi", Vladimir Gorodetsky, who designed the famous House with Chimeras. And, strangely enough, even many Kyivites have not seen this church with their own eyes. And it really deserves everyone's attention, because the incredible amount of details in the decoration and sculptures will make you peer at every meter with bated breath.

Khanenko Museum

This is, without exaggeration, one of the most favorite museums among the residents of the capital. And if you haven't been here yet, we recommend that you plan a trip next weekend. The museum consists of two main buildings, one of which is the Khanenko family mansion and a unique historical and architectural monument.

If you've already visited all the sights of Kyiv, it's time to move on to exploring the underwater world. And the Kyiv Oceanarium is ideal for this purpose, as it features more than 3000 aquatic inhabitants: fish, reptiles, amphibians and invertebrates. The underwater tunnel located here is worthy of attention, but this is not all the attractions of this place.
