The Diia app now has an interactive map of shelters that allows you to quickly find the route to the nearest shelter during an air raid in Ukraine. Here's how to use the service.

A new service from the Ministry of Digital Transformation allows you to quickly find a safe place during an air threat. The interactive map shows not only where the shelter is located, but also provides information about it and a route.

What information can be viewed on the map?

In addition to the above, users of the interactive map can

• see what the shelter looks like and find out its rating

• find out the capacity of the shelter

• assess the condition of the shelter;

• leave a review or report that the shelter is closed (this information will be transferred to the local authorities);

• share the geolocation with family or friends.

You can also filter the search for shelters on the map. For example, you can find a bomb shelter for people with disabilities.

How to use the map?

The user needs to open the app and select "Services", then click on the "Unbreakable" service.

The map will automatically detect your current location and show you the nearest available shelters. Each shelter on the map is accompanied by the detailed information described above.

How can I view the map without the internet?

To use the map without an internet connection, you need to first go to Diia with the internet connection enabled and download a map of your region in the Downloaded Maps section.

To view the downloaded map, you will need to go to the "Unbreakable" section and click "Downloaded maps".

Please note that this map is not available in the following regions for security reasons:

- Donetsk region;

- Luhansk region;

- Zaporizhzhia region;

- Kherson region.

People who live in these regions can find out the addresses of the shelters at their local authorities.

Can foreigners use the interactive map of shelters?

It is worth noting that only authorised users can use the map of shelters. Since authorisation in Diia is done through a bank, foreigners who have an account with a bank can use the interactive map. The list of banks through which you can log in to Diia is available here.

In addition, authorisation in the app can be done using an ID card or passport (namely, via NFC).

It is also important for foreigners to remember that there is still a war in Ukraine. While active hostilities are taking place in the eastern and southern regions, the rest of the country is not immune to the occupiers' missile attacks. To feel as safe as possible throughout Ukraine, we recommend taking out an insurance policy covering military risks. You can take out this policy in two clicks by following this link.
