Romania has allowed transit (return) to Ukraine with any document

According to the Embassy of Ukraine in Bulgaria, Ukrainians can return home in transit through Romania with any identity document.
For humanitarian reasons, the Romanian Border Police allows Ukrainian citizens who have left Ukraine since February 24, 2022 to cross the Romanian border for transit to Ukraine without a valid document to travel abroad and without a visa if they provide one of these documents at the border:
✅ Internal passport of an old citizen of Ukraine;
✅ Internal passport of a citizen of Ukraine with electronic media (ID-card);
✅ Non-biometric passport of a citizen of Ukraine for travel abroad (including a note on the extension of validity);
✅ Birth certificate;
✅ Children whose data are entered in the passport of one of the parents.
Citizens of Ukraine who do not have any of the above documents will be allowed to enter Romania for transit to Ukraine (directly or through the Republic of Moldova) on the basis of a child's travel document or certificate of return, including old model, without visa or other authorization.
