Traveling to EU countries from Slovakia for Ukrainians: what is the problem?
Citizens of Ukraine are told that Slovakia has not yet completed the process of implementing documents that should ensure unimpeded movement through all EU countries. For example, a document called "dočasne útočisko" is considered an internal document of the Slovak Republic.
Persons who have been issued this document may be subject to fines, restrictions on entry to certain countries, or even deportation.
Unfortunately, each EU country interprets the text of the document in its own way, which creates additional difficulties for Ukrainian travelers.
Thus, Ukrainians who have a "dočasné útočisko" (temporary protection - ed.) document and have exceeded the 90-day visa-free period should be prepared for possible problems when crossing the border. The solution to these issues depends on the specific circumstances and the border guard officials.
