Seasonal work in Poland 2024: where to work and how much to pay

Unlike previous years, when recruitment began in mid-April, this year the process started later. Polish entrepreneurs are looking for workers not only for May, but also for the entire season, which will open in mid-June. This was reported by Anna Sudolska, a labor market expert at IDEA HR Group, in-poland.com reports.

In particular, experts in the field of labor resources note interesting trends - the number of seasonal workers from Ukraine is steadily declining, while interest in temporary work among local youth is growing. As for the level of remuneration, salaries remain almost unchanged or even slightly decreased compared to last year.

Please note! You can officially work in Poland from the age of 15.

Which areas are most in demand?

The demand for personnel is high in the gastronomy and trade sectors. Popular vacancies include waiters, cooks, kitchen assistants, shop assistants, and souvenir sellers.

There are also jobs in hotels, where cleaners and service staff are needed.

Sudolska emphasizes that foreigners do a great job in catering, customer service, and room service. So, the recruitment is smaller here, and if there are vacancies, they are single offers. Cleaning can bring in more money than working in the catering industry, but employers are more likely to look for people to work hourly than full-time. The situation is likely to change with the growth of hotel occupancy.

How much can I earn in Poland in the summer?

Salaries depend on experience, position, and work schedule. Waiters can earn from 6000 to 8000 PLN net per month.

Cooks, depending on their level of qualification, can expect a salary of PLN 6000 to 15000.

Work in ice cream parlors and coffee shops brings about 7000 PLN per month. In the field of cleaning, payment starts from 35 zlotys per hour, and cleaning apartments and rooms for rent can bring up to 70 zlotys per hour.

According to Anna Sudolska, salaries are likely to increase depending on the number of tourists, weather, and staffing levels. Currently, salaries do not show a significant increase or decrease.

"We see that this year there are fewer people willing to work from Ukraine, but the situation may change," the expert adds.

We remind you!
The Polish government wants to introduce a new verification system that will allow establishing the location of Ukrainians and instantly suspend benefits for those who are outside the country. Read more about the innovations and when they will come into force in our previous article.
