In the south of Odesa region, a unique village called Vilkovo, which is called the "Ukrainian Venice", has been opened for tourists. We will tell you what it is famous for and how to get there.
It is also worth noting that the authorities have opened a beach in the village of Prymorske (Vilkovo City Council).
Vilkovo - the Ukrainian Venice
Vilkovo is a city located in the Ukrainian part of the Danube Delta, in the extreme south-west of Ukraine, in the Izmail district of Odesa region. Founded in 1746 as the village of Lipovanske, Vilkovo is the last settlement on the banks of the Danube before it flows into the Black Sea.
The city is also known as the "Ukrainian Venice" due to the many canals, which locals call eriks, dug along the streets. Boats are a common means of transport here.
The Danube Biosphere Reserve is located near Vilkovo.
Several films have been shot in Vilkovo, including the 3-hour feature film "12 Chairs" ("Zwölf Stühle") by German director Ulrika Ottinger, based on the novel of the same name by Ilf and Petrov.
Prymorske village is located in the south-west of Ukraine. The district centre, Izmail, is 108 km away, and the regional centre, Odesa, is about 208 km away.

Beach season in Odesa
We wrote that since 1 July, four more swimming beaches have been opened in Odesa:
• Inclusive beach
• True Man Sun of a Beach beach
• Two beaches "Red Line"
The head of the Odesa Regional State Administration also noted that the list of accessible beaches will be supplemented as inspections are carried out.
However, it is worth remembering that during air raid alert, detection of suspicious objects, storms of 2 points and in the dark, people are not allowed to stay by the sea.
We remind you! Ukrzaliznytsia is returning the Intercity+ high-speed train from Kyiv to Odesa. You can find the detailed train schedule here.
