Ukrainians with special services to the country or war veteran status will be able to receive a one-time cash payment on the occasion of Ukraine's Independence Day. 


The procedure for providing this assistance has been approved by a resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, and the terms of payment have been clarified by the Pension Fund of Ukraine (PFU).


One-time cash payment for Independence Day: procedure and conditions for receiving it


Who can receive the payment?


The following categories of citizens can receive the allowance:


• Persons with special labor merits before the Motherland.

• War veterans.

• Citizens working in special conditions.


To receive financial assistance, a person must acquire the appropriate status by August 24 of the current year inclusive.


The procedure for receiving assistance


• Pensioners who are eligible for the payment will receive it automatically along with their August pension. There is no need to apply to the Pension Fund.

• War veterans who work or serve and are not pensioners will receive funds on non-budgetary accounts of the relevant military units, institutions or organizations. To do this, they need to submit an application, including through the Pension Fund's electronic services web portal.

• Persons who are not pensioners and are not in service must apply to the territorial body of the Pension Fund with an application and relevant documents. The payment will be made to a current account in an authorized bank.

Payment amounts


One-time financial assistance is paid in the following amounts:


Persons with war-related disabilities and former juvenile (under 14 years of age at the time of imprisonment) prisoners of concentration camps, ghettos, and other places of detention recognized as persons with disabilities due to general illness, labor injury, and other reasons:

• Group I - UAH 3100.

• Group II - UAH 2900.

• Group III - UAH 2700.

- Participants in hostilities, injured participants of the Revolution of Dignity and former minors (who were under 18 years of age at the time of imprisonment), prisoners of concentration camps, ghettos, other places of detention, as well as children born in the above places of detention of their parents - UAH 1000.

- Persons with special merits before the Motherland - UAH 3100.

- Family members of deceased war veterans, family members of deceased defenders of Ukraine, wives (husbands) of deceased persons with disabilities as a result of war who did not remarry, wives (husbands) of deceased combatants, war veterans and victims of Nazi persecution recognized as persons with disabilities from general illness, labor injury and other causes who did not remarry - UAH 650.

- For war veterans and former prisoners of concentration camps, ghettos, and other places of forced detention, persons who were forcibly taken for forced labor, children of partisans, underground fighters, and other participants - UAH 450.

Please note! Applications for one-time financial assistance must be submitted by August 1. If the application is not submitted by this deadline, it can be done by October 1, 2024.
