The film ‘Yaremchuk: The Unparalleled World of Beauty’ about singer Nazariy Yaremchuk, which was released on 8 August, has become the highest-grossing documentary film at the Ukrainian box office. 


According to the film's producer Maksym Serdyuk, the film set a record by collecting UAH 10 million at the box office in three weeks of distribution.

Note that the budget of the film was 2.5 million hryvnias. For three weeks of distribution it was watched by 63 thousand viewers.

‘Yaremchuk: The Unparalleled World of Beauty’ is a documentary biographical drama about the path of the Ukrainian famous artist Nazary Yaremchuk, who passed away in 1995.


Yaremchuk is known for such songs as ‘Chervona ruta’, ‘Vodograi’, ‘Stozhari’, ‘Gai, green gai’ and others.


Many of Yaremchuk's musical compositions are still hugely popular among Ukrainians and not only.

The film overtook the Oscar winner at the box office


As we have already written, the film ‘Yaremchuk: The Unparalleled World of Beauty’ was watched by 63 thousand viewers, and box office receipts totalled 10 million hryvnias in three weeks.


Thus, the film ‘overtook’ the previous record holder in box office receipts - the Oscar-winning film ‘20 Days in Mariupol’.
