Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal announced at a government meeting that from October 1, the first stage of the Affordable Mortgage program, initiated by the President of Ukraine, will start working in Ukraine.

In the first stage, lending will be provided to four categories of Ukrainians:

• military contractors and workers in the security and defense sector;

• physicians;

• teachers and teaching staff;

• scientists.

The mortgage rate is 3% per annum. The loan term is up to 20 years. The required initial payment is 20% of the cost of housing.

The Government will approve the necessary conditions for ensuring affordable lending for the state company Ukrfinzhytlo at a meeting.

Already in 2023, every Ukrainian who needs to improve their living conditions will be able to purchase housing on preferential terms of mortgage lending. The rate will be only 7% per annum.

The Prime Minister stressed that the approval of a large-scale mortgage lending program will make it possible to intensify construction, which will contribute to the recovery of the Ukrainian economy.
