Searching for work abroad: how not to become a victim of scammers
Many Ukrainians are currently looking for work abroad, but choosing the most profitable offer can easily become a victim of fraudsters. Last week, a group of people were detained in Kyiv who offered employment services abroad, but instead embezzled funds from Ukrainians. In total, the fraudsters earned about 10 million hryvnias.
The two most popular fraud schemes are:
• swindlers ask to pay money for processing documents, but after receiving payment they stop contacting;
• help to move to EU countries, and after arrival offer a job with worse employment conditions.
What should be alarming?
In order not to become a victim of one of these schemes, you should know that currently the employment process in EU countries is very simplified and does not require any additional payments. For example, if you are looking for a job in Poland - the cost of the invitation is 100 zlotys (about 700 hryvnias), some employers may also ask for a deposit of 50 zlotys, which will be returned to you after 1 month of work. If the intermediary asks you to pay more than this amount, you should be alarmed.
Also, be careful when applying for a work visa. If you are offered a job in Germany, you cannot apply for a Polish work visa. Such actions by the intermediary may mean that after arriving in the EU, you will work at a completely different job to which you were invited.
Most importantly, if the proposed working conditions or salary are significantly higher than the market average and the intermediary asks for large sums of money for employment, there is a high probability of fraud.
What else is worth checking?
First of all, check information about intermediaries - find a company on the Internet, read reviews, ask friends. The more information you find, the harder it will be to deceive you. Check the company in the court and legal registers. You should also check the organization where you will be offered employment.
The most effective and safe way to find a job abroad is to apply to employment centers in the settlements of EU countries, or to look for work on your own. You should not be afraid to leave without a job, because currently many EU countries support Ukrainians, provide free housing and financial assistance, which will enable you to calmly find a decent job.

The simultaneous stay of visitors in the hotel lobby not more than one person per 10 square meters of serviceable area is allowed.
