How to refund money for tickets from flights canceled after February 24?
After the start of a full-scale war, the airspace of Ukraine was closed. As a result, thousands of Ukrainians did not take their scheduled flights. However, it is possible to get a refund for unused tickets.
Only foreign airlines refund funds. For Ukrainian companies, the war is a force majeure, so tickets cannot be handed over. At the same time, Ukrainian carriers promised that boarding documents could be used after the end of the war.
Which airlines offer refunds?
Lufthansa, Turkish Airlines, Air France, KLM, LOT.
What should be done?
1. Find out if your flight has been officially cancelled;
2. If so, apply for a refund.
Advice: do not agree to postpone the date of the flight, because it is not known when Ukraine will resume air connections with other countries.
Also pay attention! If the airline indicated the price of the tickets in hryvnia equivalent, then the refund will be made in this currency. Pay attention to the increase in the dollar rate - the amount in currency equivalent will be smaller.
