In the conditions of martial law, the migration legislation and the rules of entry into Ukraine have not changed, the land borders of the state work as usual. Both Ukrainians and foreigners have the right to enter the country. The only thing that complicates the journey is closed air space.

The Administration of the State Border Service of Ukraine reports that over 1.3 million foreigners visited the country in the first 8 months of 2023, including 6,197 citizens of Georgia. Many tourists also came in 2022.

Ukrainian culture and nature attract travelers even despite the military risks. Most foreigners go to Ukraine for private purposes, on a tourist trip, as part of diplomatic missions or to join the ranks of volunteers.

Depending on the citizenship, a foreigner must obtain a visa or prepare documents for visa-free entry to travel to Ukraine.
