Important: The stay of Ukrainians in Albania has been extended until 2027.
The Council of Ministers of the Republic of Albania has adopted a new decision repealing the previous Decision No. 169 of 2022. According to the new document:
- Ukrainian citizens may enter Albania without a visa and stay without a residence permit until March 30, 2027.
- This rule also applies to those who are already in Albania — their stay is automatically extended until the specified date.
- The Ministry of the Interior and the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs of Albania are responsible for implementing the decision.
Albania for Ukrainians: Can You Enter in 2026?
Yes, in 2026, Ukrainians can enter Albania without any restrictions—the country remains open to Ukrainian citizens. To travel, you need:
- a biometric passport;
- no violations of immigration rules;
- compliance with standard border crossing requirements.
A visa is not required for Ukrainians, nor is there a requirement to apply for a residence permit immediately upon entry.
