Types of electronic tourist visas to India
There are 3 different types of e-visas available for foreign citizens to enter India, we offer the following:
- 30-day e-Visa for India
- 1-year e-Visa for India
- 5-year e-Visa for India
1-year and 5-year visas provide for multiple entries. They allow an uninterrupted stay during each visit, which should not exceed 90 days in total
The Indian tourist e-Visa is valid for entry through:
- 28 designated airports: Ahmedabad, Amritsar, Bagdogra, Bengaluru, Bhubaneswar, Calicut, Chennai, Chandigarh, Cochin, Coimbatore, Delhi, Gaya, Goa, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Madurai, Port Blythe, Mangalore, Pune, Tiruchirappalli, Trivandrum, Varanasi and Visakhapatnam.
- 5 designated seaports: Cochin, Goa, Mangalore, Mumbai, Chennai. However, travelers can disembark from any of the authorized Immigration Checkpoints (ICPs) in India.

How to apply for an e-Visa to India?
To apply for an Indian visa, you must fill out an online form where you will need to provide the following information:
Required documents and information for the visa:
- Passport type and citizenship/nationality (passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the date of entry)
- Passport details: number, place of issue, date of issue and expiration date
- Port of arrival and expected date of arrival
- Date of birth as it appears in your passport
- Country of birth
- Surname, first name and patronymic as it appears in your passport
- Email address
You will need to choose the e-visa that best suits your particular situation.
When applying for a visa to India, special attention is paid to the correctness of filling out the online application form. Even minor discrepancies between the data in the application and the information in the passport or accompanying documents may be grounds for additional checks or refusal.
To avoid technical errors and incorrect wording, it is advisable to check the application form with a lawyer before submitting it.

- e-Arrivar Card
e-Arrival Card for India
On October 1, 2025, India introduced a mandatory e-Arrival Card, which all foreign travelers must complete online no later than 72 hours before arrival. This form replaces the paper arrival/departure card that was previously issued on the plane or at the airport.
What is an e-Arrival Card?
It is an electronic pre-arrival form that collects basic information about the traveler. Completion is mandatory for all categories of visitors — tourists, business travelers, conference participants, patients, etc.
What information do I need to provide?
- Passport details (passport number, citizenship)
- Purpose of travel (tourism, business, medical treatment, etc.)
- Address of stay in India
- Dates and duration of visit
- Countries visited in the last 6 days prior to arrival

How to fill it out?
- Go to the official portal.
- Fill out the online form in English.
- Confirm the data and submit the form.
- Receive confirmation by email.
During the trip
The traveler must present confirmation of the completed e-Arrival Card — in digital form or as a printout — during passport control.

When entering India, the lack of medical insurance may be grounds for additional questions at the border, even if the policy is not formally specified as a mandatory document for tourists. In practice, having valid insurance covering the entire period of stay helps to avoid delays during border control.

Permitted.
All passengers arriving in India must go through customs.
The first step is to fill out a customs declaration issued by the airline before disembarking from the plane.
Be sure to fill out and sign the declaration and hand it over to an immigration officer at the Indian airport.
There are 2 channels of customs clearance - Red Channel and Green Channel. Here's how they differ:
Red Corridor.
The red corridor is intended for passengers who carry prohibited items in their luggage or the amount of which exceeds the free allowance.
The free baggage allowance is the amount of certain items allowed for transportation without paying duties.
The list of prohibited or duty-free items includes:
- Carrying more than 100 cigarettes
- Transportation of more than 25 cigars
- More than 125 grams of tobacco
- More than 2 liters of alcohol or wine
- Any form of gold or silver, except for jewelry or ornaments
- Flat screen, liquid crystal display, light emitting diode or plasma TVs
- Anything that exceeds the amount of the free allowance
Green corridor
The green corridor is intended for passengers who do not have any duty-paying or prohibited items in their luggage.
If you are carrying prohibited items but go through the Green Corridor, you may be held liable and penalized, and your items may be confiscated.
What can I bring into India?
Here is a short list of the permitted items you can bring into India:
- Personal belongings
- Tourist souvenirs
- Liquor, wine or beer with a total volume of up to 2 liters
- Silver weighing less than 10 kg
- Up to 2 pets, such as dogs and cats, with all relevant tests and vaccinations.
- In addition to personal belongings, items worth up to ₹15,000-50,000 depending on your origin
- Indian residents arriving after more than 1 year abroad can import jewelry worth ₹100,000 for women and ₹50,000 for men.
- Permitted plants and seeds
- Laptop or computer within the free baggage allowance
What is the currency limit at Indian customs?
Foreign currency - up to 5,000 USD, larger amounts must be declared, or traveler's checks up to 10,000 USD

The cost depends on the type of visa:
- 30-day tourist eVisa (2 entries): 10 USD (February–June) or 25 USD (July–January).
- 1-year tourist eVisa: 40 USD.
- Tourist eVisa for 5 years (multiple entry): 80 USD.
- Business eVisa for 1 year: 80 USD.
- Medical or conference eVisa: 80 USD.
A small bank commission is also added to the price.
