Study in Malaysia for Ukrainians
Once you have registered at your institution, you can apply for your Malaysia Student ID from the Immigration Department of Malaysia. A student card in the form of a sticker on your passport that confirms your stay in Malaysia for the purpose of studying.
You can submit your passport to your school so they can arrange for you to get your student card.
Also, once you get your student card, you will also get an i-Kad. The Malaysian i-Kad is a foreign national identity card that confirms that the holder has valid Malaysian resident status.
The period of issuance
In general, the entire process from applying for a Malaysian Student Visa Approval Letter (VAL) to receiving your student pass takes 4-6 weeks.
The processing time for the visa approval letter is 14 days. The processing time for a Malaysian entry visa is one to three weeks (unless it is an e-Visa which is processed within 2 days).
The validity period of your student pass in Malaysia depends on your course of study. If you are studying at a language school, your Student Pass is valid for 6 months, but it can be renewed. For most courses, you will receive a 1-year student card, which you can renew accordingly. For certain courses, you can get a student card that will be valid for the entire course.
Malaysia student card renewal
If you need to renew your student card in Malaysia, you can renew it on the EMGS website. To renew your Malaysian Student ID, you need a CGPA of at least 2.0 and an overall attendance of at least 80%.
You must provide a copy of your passport (biodata page and any visa pages) and any educational transcripts and certificates you have obtained.
Other renewal requirements are consistent with your institution's admissions requirements.
Cancellation of Malaysia Student ID Card
If you decide that you no longer wish to continue your studies in Malaysia, you will need to ask your school to apply to EMGS to cancel your Malaysia Student Pass.
You cannot request Student Pass cancellation yourself.
