Rules of entry to Qatar for Ukrainians

A free tourist visa on arrival is granted to citizens of Ukraine for a maximum period of 90 days or according to the hotel reservation.

What documents are required to enter Qatar?

1. A passport valid for at least six months.
2. Confirmed round-trip ticket.
3. Confirmed hotel reservation only through the website. Hotel reservations from other websites are not accepted.
4. Health insurance from one of the accredited insurance companies.

How much money do you need to cross the border?

When planning a trip to Qatar, tourists are usually advised to have around 50–70 USD per day of their stay. There is no fixed minimum amount, but your financial solvency may be checked at the border. Currency amounts exceeding 50,000 QAR (approximately 13,700 USD) must be declared upon entry.

What to do if your foreign passport is about to expire

As of October 29, 2025, Ukraine has abolished the military rule that allowed foreign passports to be extended and information about children to be added to them. Now, only valid biometric passports are accepted for travel abroad.

Therefore, if your document has been “extended” or information about children has been added to it, you need to apply for a new biometric passport.

Where can you apply for a new passport?

• In Ukraine — at the offices of the State Migration Service, CNAAs, or branches of the State Enterprise “Document”.
• Abroad — at embassies or consulates of Ukraine, as well as at branches of the State Enterprise “Document”, if they operate in your country.

If you are abroad and have an “extended” passport

If the border service of another country does not allow you to leave or does not accept the document when entering Ukraine, contact the nearest embassy or consulate of Ukraine.

There you can obtain an identity card for return to Ukraine (the so-called “white passport”). It is issued on the day of application — free of charge for children under 16 and for a consular fee for adults.

Conditions:
- Transit through Hamad Airport (Doha) is permitted for passengers traveling on a single ticket issued by Qatar Airways to their final destination. The condition is that the passenger is allowed to enter the country at the final destination.
- If passengers are traveling on separate tickets, the competent authorities of the country where the transfer from a Qatar Airways flight to another airline is made must relieve Qatar Airways of responsibility for the passenger's return in the event of a connecting flight cancellation. In other cases, the passenger will be denied check-in for a Qatar Airways flight.

Some restrictions for importation into the territory of Qatar:

- cigarettes (no more than 400 pieces)

- personal consumption goods not exceeding QAR 3,000 (USD 822) are not subject to customs declaration and taxation if they are not used for commercial purposes. If the value of such goods exceeds this amount, or they are imported for commercial purposes, the import duty will be 5% of the value of the goods, except for cigarettes and tobacco products, which will be subject to 100% of the value.

- The following goods are prohibited for importation into Qatar: drugs, alcoholic beverages, pork products, flammable and radioactive substances, weapons, military ammunition, explosives, obscene materials (books, magazines, electronic media, etc.).
