Immigration to Uzbekistan for Ukrainians
In order to reside in Uzbekistan, all foreign nationals need to obtain a residence permit.
The Uzbek long-term residence permit is valid for 5 years. If a foreign citizen is over 60 years old, the document is issued indefinitely.

Grounds for obtaining a residence permit
1. The right to reside is granted upon purchase of real estate to residents of 111 countries in:
- Tashkent region and the city of Tashkent for the equivalent of at least USD 400,000;
- Samarkand, Bukhara, Namangan, Andijan, Fergana and Khorezm regions - in the equivalent of at least USD 200,000;
- the Republic of Karakalpakstan and other regions of the republic - in the equivalent of at least USD 100,000.
2. A residence permit can be obtained by a spouse if they have been living together for at least 5 years.
3. Minor blood brothers and sisters without parents who live in the property where their blood brothers and sisters are permanently registered.
4. Professionals who are invited to work in state organizations of national importance at the request of the head of the relevant organization and their family members, including spouses and children who do not have families, for the duration of their tenure.
5. Residence permits are also granted to persons who have come for study purposes.

List of documents required to apply for a permanent residence permit
- application form in 2 copies;
- passport of a foreign citizen or travel document of a stateless person;
- application of the homeowner for the provision of living space;
- original documents for housing (living space) (copies are taken, originals are returned);
- documents on marriage, birth of a child, death of parents, as well as documents confirming guardianship or custody (copies are taken, originals are returned);
- a petition from the head of the relevant body of a state organization of republican significance (in case of registration in accordance with clause 6 of the List);
- receipt of payment of the fee for consideration and registration of documents;
- two 35 x 45 mm photographs.
Foreign citizens and stateless persons may be admitted, upon their application, to the citizenship of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the citizenship of the Republic of Uzbekistan regardless of origin, race and nationality, gender, education, language, attitude to religion, political and other beliefs.
The conditions for acquiring the citizenship of the Republic of Uzbekistan are:
- renunciation of foreign citizenship;
- permanent residence in the Republic of Uzbekistan for the last five years.
- availability of legal sources of subsistence;
- recognition and implementation of the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
- Proficiency in the state language to the extent necessary for communication. The procedure for determining the level of proficiency in the state language is approved by the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The requirements specified in clauses 1, 2 and 3 may be disregarded in exceptional cases by decision of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan in respect of individuals who have outstanding services to the Republic of Uzbekistan or high achievements in science, technology and culture, as well as have a profession or qualification of interest to the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Documents required
The following documents are submitted for the citizenship of the Republic of Uzbekistan:
- application form
- birth certificate;
- passport of a citizen of a foreign state or a document on movement or residence permit of a stateless person (ID-card of a stateless person);
- marriage or divorce certificate (if available);
- if the application contains a child, his/her birth certificate and passport of a foreign citizen or residence permit or statelessness certificate (if any), if the child is over fourteen years old, written consent is obtained from the child under eighteen years of age;
- a passport (identity card) of the first relative residing in the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan and being a citizen of the Republic of Uzbekistan, properly related by genealogy (if any);
- a document confirming the availability of legal sources of livelihood;
- a document confirming the existence of a criminal record from an official body of the state of which they are a citizen;
- Document confirming payment of the state fee (consular fee);
- A document confirming proficiency in the state language at the level required for communication is received by the authorized body through the interagency information exchange system.
