Egypt Education

Student visa
The Egyptian education system is centralized and divided into the following stages:
- Basic education
- Primary stage
- Preparatory stage
- Secondary education
- Postgraduate education
Many private schools offer additional educational programs alongside the state curriculum, such as the American High School Diploma, the British IGCSE system, the French Baccalaureate, the German Abitur, and the International Baccalaureate. These are the types of private schools in Egypt.
There are also religious schools (based on the Azhar principle), which are named after institutes and include primary, preparatory and secondary education.
All religious schools teach non-religious subjects at all stages, although less attention is paid to the latter than in regular public schools, and the basis of the curriculum is religious disciplines. All students must be Muslim, and boys and girls are taught separately.
Azhar schools are widespread throughout the country, especially in rural areas.
There are both public and private higher education institutions in Egypt. Public higher education in Egypt is free, students pay a so-called registration fee. Private education is quite expensive.
Higher education in Egypt
Egyptian institutes accept people who have a high school diploma and the results of entrance exams. In addition, many universities require knowledge of the Arabic language, which can be learned at university courses.
After admission, the study will consist of three stages. The first one is for bachelors, which is considered a full-fledged higher education in Egypt. After obtaining a bachelor's degree, a student can continue his or her studies: in a master's program (another 1-2 years), in a doctoral program (another 2-3 years).
