On the Ukrainian-Romanian border within the Chernivtsi region on November 10, a new automobile checkpoint "Krasnoilsk" was opened. Its construction was approved 7 years ago as part of the Open Border project. Prior to this, only one checkpoint functioned on this section of the border, and therefore the workload was quite high, which created discomfort for citizens.

Where exactly is the checkpoint located?

BCP "Krasnoilsk" is located in the south-west of the Chernivtsi region. The road where the BCP will operate leads to the Romanian village of Vicova de Sus.

The exact geolocation of the checkpoint is marked on the link.

Who can use the Krasnoilsk BCP?

The new checkpoint will be able to pass 2000 citizens, 10 buses and 490 cars per day.

Now the passage is allowed for cars and empty trucks. However, later Krasnoilsk should become a full-fledged cargo checkpoint.

"The issue of creating the necessary infrastructural conditions for road traffic, including freight traffic, more than 3.5 tons is already being discussed with Romanian colleagues", - said Kyrylo Tymoshenko, Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine.

It is worth noting that the start of operation of this checkpoint will not only facilitate border crossings for Ukrainian citizens, but will also make it possible to unload the only checkpoint in Bukovina on the border with Romania - Porubne.

That's not all! According to the representative of the Presidential Office, the Dyakovtsi international checkpoint, also on the border with Romania, is already 85% ready. It is scheduled to be completed by the end of this year.

We remind you, that in October, an electronic queue was launched at border checkpoints. More details about how it works can be found at the link.
