Edward Doks book "Ukrainian Reportage in Hebrew" was supposed to become a guide to a peaceful Ukraine. But, unfortunately, these plans were disrupted by the great war, although the author did not believe in the possibility of a full-scale russian invasion of Ukraine to the last.
Now, part of the proceeds from the sale of the book will be given to Ukrainian women and children who fled the war.
The author, Edward Doks, is an international journalist, tour guide, and translator who knows Hebrew perfectly. He grew up and studied in Vinnytsia, and spent part of his life in Israel.
"Ukrainian Reportage in Hebrew" is not Doks first book related to Ukraine.
Previously, he became the author of the first Ukrainian-language collection of sayings of Rabbi Nachman, one of the most respected Jewish thinkers in the world.
"Ukrainian reportage in Hebrew". What is interesting about the book?
The book contains many curious photos of Ukrainian tourist routes. For example, the world's only aqua limousine, the world's best Sherpa SUV, typical shtetl houses (Jewish shtetls), unique synagogues.
Participants of these virtual tours from the book can recognize in the photo some of the unforgettable personalities they met while traveling with Dox - Raisa Sergiivna from Bessarabka, uncle Grisha from Berdychev, the late Leonid Moiseyovych from the synagogue in Podol.
The book also contains the author's reports in Hebrew, a selection of photographs with English captions, a bilingual English-Ukrainian foreword by Shimon Peres, adviser to the President of Israel, and a biography of the author himself..
