Lufthansa massively cancels flights from Poland: what is known
During the winter period, Lufthansa will operate fewer flights from seven Polish airports: Warsaw, Krakow, Poznan, Wroclaw, Katowice, Rzeszow, and Gdansk. A total of 563 flights in both directions will be canceled.
The airline plans to cut the number of flights from Frankfurt am Main (450 flights) and Munich (over 100). In particular, Wroclaw Airport will lose the most connections with Frankfurt - 164 flights. It will also be more difficult for passengers to get to Katowice and Warsaw, where there will be 116 and 89 fewer flights, respectively.
Passengers will now face restrictions on flights to Munich, in particular, Krakow Airport will lose 50 flights and Warsaw Airport will lose 31 flights.
Earlier, Lufthansa announced plans to cut 12,000 flights from Frankfurt and Munich to various destinations during the fall and winter season, a 13% decrease.
Although no details have been disclosed as to the reasons for the reduction in flights, experts believe that it is due to changes in winter travel demand, economic factors, and the state of the aviation market.
