How were the Invictus Games competitions held?
Ukraine first took part in the competition in 2017, and this year the country was represented by the largest team of 25 participants in the history of Invictus Games. The Ukrainian team consisted of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, volunteers, as well as members of the National Guard, National Police and volunteer battalions.
Ukrainian athletes took part in 9 sports, that is, in all but rugby. However, some participants did play rugby in mixed teams with military personnel and veterans from other countries.
Of course, the main goal of the Invictus Games is not to win medals, but to rehabilitate wounded soldiers, veterans and volunteers. However, throughout the week of the Invictus Games, participants competed for awards and the best results in various sports and categories, depending on the nature of their injuries or traumas.
