According to the press service of Ukrzaliznytsia, a new international train from Ukraine to Warsaw will be launched on October 15. This will be the first time in 18 years that Warsaw and Lviv will be connected by rail.

"It took us more than 6 months to implement this project, including agreeing on all the details with the Polish side and opening the checkpoint. From now on, 10 more settlements of Ukraine will have rail connections with Warsaw and Lublin," said Yevhen Lyashchenko, Chairman of the Board of Ukrzaliznytsia.

Train route No. 867/868 (Kolomyia-Lviv-Rava-Ruska) and No. 767 (Warsaw-Rava-Ruska)

It will be possible to get to Poland (Warsaw or Lublin) not only from Lviv, but also from other cities in western Ukraine. In particular, the train will run through Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Stryi, Kolomyia, Kalush, Morshyn, Bryukhovychi, and Zhovkva with a change of train at Rava-Ruska station.

It is also important that the train schedule is designed in such a way that residents of other cities of Ukraine will be able to make a convenient transfer in Lviv and continue their journey to Poland.

The interchange format of the route is due to the peculiarities of the railroad tracks. Thus, passengers will transfer from a train of Ukrainian gauge (1520 mm) to a train of European gauge (1435 mm) and vice versa.

How to buy tickets for the train Warsaw-Lviv and vice versa?

On the territory of Ukraine, the train will be operated by Ukrzaliznytsia, and on the route Rava-Ruska-Lublin/Warsaw - by the Polish carrier SKPL. According to Ukrzaliznytsia, "passengers should not worry about possible delays, as the transfer has been agreed upon. The train will always be waiting for all passengers."
