Following the European Commission's instruction (September 8) banning the import of a number of goods from russia, including vehicles with russian registration, European countries began to impose restrictions on their borders. Here's who has already imposed the ban and what additional problems russian citizens have faced amid the sanctions.

So, in addition to cars, the list of prohibited items also includes:

- suitcases, bags and wallets;

- some items of clothing and leather and fur products

- cosmetic products;

- semi-precious and precious stones;

- mobile phones, cameras and laptops.

Which countries have already banned the entry of cars with russian license plates?

It should be noted that since October 3, no country bordering russia has allowed cars with russian registration to enter the country.

Norway was the last country to introduce restrictions on October 3. It is the only Schengen country that has a land border with russia and still allows russians to enter for tourist purposes.

However, according to the decision of the Norwegian authorities, the ban on the entry of cars with russian registration does not apply to vehicles with 10 or more seats. Therefore, russians can cross the border in vans and buses.

 Latvia.

 Lithuania.

 Poland.

 Finland.

 Estonia.

 Bulgaria.

In addition, Germany, which borders Kaliningrad, began to confiscate cars with russian registration in July 2023.

However, it is worth noting that the only EU country that russians can enter with their own car is Greece. However, russian tourists traveling from Turkey to Greece in their cars have already begun to be turned back at the Greek border.

Russians also have problems with aviation

According to the russian media, russian airlines have been advised not to fly abroad on planes owned by the State Transport Leasing Company (GTLC). The foreign branches of this particular company are currently undergoing bankruptcy proceedings.

The recommendation for airlines came from Rosaviatsia, which warns that GTLC aircraft may be confiscated abroad. It is noted that we are talking about 50 Airbus and Boeing aircraft operated by five russian air carriers - Aeroflot, S7, Rossiya, Yamal, and Aurora.

Against this backdrop, some russian airlines have experienced problems with flight delays.

We remind you! More than 1.5 years into the full-scale lockdown, russian citizens continue to make attempts to enter the territory of Ukraine. How many russians have managed to get into Ukraine and why they are taking this step, we tell you here.
