The capital has announced the temporary abolition of parking fees, which is a significant change for local drivers and visitors. Find out more about the reasons for this decision and when parking fees will be restored
The Kyiv Digital mobile application team has announced the temporary abolition of parking fees in Kyiv. This decision applies to all parking lots owned by Kyivtransparkservis.
It is not yet known when the fee will be resumed, but they promise to publish this information later.
Parking fees have been temporarily canceled in the capital again: reasons
The decision is related to the revision of tariffs in court.
Drivers who are forced to pay for parking in municipal parking lots during this period are advised to contact the police.
Meanwhile, other fines for traffic violations remain unchanged.
Oleksiy Khmelnytsky, head of the Kyiv regional office of the Antimonopoly Committee, clarifies that the Sixth Administrative Court of Appeal upheld the decision that canceled and declared unlawful the KCSA's order to introduce paid parking.

This applies to tariffs of 35 hryvnias per hour in the first zone and 25 and 5 hryvnias in the second and third zones, respectively. Khmelnytskyi hopes that the city authorities will set new, reasonable tariffs.
In October 2023, the Antimonopoly Committee found that parking prices in the capital were overpriced and imposed a fine of UAH 6.6 million on Kyivtransparkservis for violating competition law. The investigation showed that the utility company abused its monopoly position in setting prices, and the KMCA effectively legalized these violations.
It is also noted that this is not the first case of violation by the utility. Previously, it demanded an additional fee from the winners of electronic auctions for the possibility of placing and arranging parking lots, as well as imposed fines for refusing to conclude a contract.
In July 2021, Kyivtransparkservice was fined UAH 2.6 million and subsequently forced to pay these penalties after losing in all court instances.
