Polish farmers have been blocking the Khyzhne checkpoint on the border with Slovakia since March 15. This was reported by Radio Svoboda.

Polish farmers blocked the checkpoint on the border with Slovakia

The farmers set restrictions, allowing only one truck per hour to pass through.

According to local time, the blockade of the checkpoint began at 10:00 (Kyiv time - at 09:00).

The farmers claim that the protest arose because it is through these roads that agricultural products from Ukraine and russia allegedly enter Poland.

According to preliminary data, the blockade is planned to last until the end of March, allowing only one truck per hour. However, the movement of cars and buses will not be restricted.

What is happening on the Ukrainian border: current situation

Currently, truck traffic towards Poland is carried out exclusively through the Krakivets checkpoint

Polish protesters have blocked such checkpoints as Yahodyn, Ustyluh, Uhryniv, Rava-Ruska and Shehyni, said Andriy Demchenko, spokesman for the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, on the air of a telethon."

Truck traffic is possible only through the Krakivets checkpoint.  Farmers unblocked it a few days ago.

Demchenko noted that Polish protesters allow a certain number of trucks to pass through the blocked checkpoints, for example, 40 trucks crossed into Ukraine through Shehyni over the past day.

"We had preliminary information that they (the Poles - Ed.) planned to resume the blockade on March 13, but this did not happen yesterday," said Demchenko.

There are about 1050 trucks in line in Poland in front of the blocked checkpoints. About 500 trucks are waiting to pass through the unblocked Krakivets checkpoint.

The SBGS spokesperson emphasized that cars and buses have no difficulty crossing the border either to Poland or Ukraine.

Remember that to leave Ukraine in a car with Ukrainian registration, you must have a Green Card insurance policy. It is mandatory in 50 countries, including the EU. Without such insurance, the car will not be allowed to cross the border! In addition, the absence or delay of insurance is fraught not only with fines that are several dozen times the cost of the insurance policy for a year, but also with the seizure of the car and deportation from the country with a subsequent ban on entry. You can take out insurance for the required period on our website. Read more about the amount of fines in Europe for not having a Green Card here.

We remind you! The rules for crossing the border for men have not changed, but border checkpoints have begun to require additional confirmation from those who have the right to leave. Read what categories of men can freely leave Ukraine and what documents they need to have in our previous article.
