This year's Summer Olympics will be held in Paris from 26 July to 11 August. Ukraine will participate in the competition and compete for medals in various sports. We tell you how many Ukrainians have been delegated to the Olympics and how many medals they are expected to win.
Ukraine could not go to the 2024 Olympics
It is worth noting that Ukraine could not have participated in the Games at all, as there was a possibility of boycotting the Olympics by allowing russians and Belarusians to participate in a neutral status. However, in the end, the National Olympic Committee decided that Ukrainian athletes would go to Paris.
At the same time, the Ukrainian government developed recommendations for Ukrainian athletes on how to contact russian and Belarusian athletes:
- refrain from direct contact with representatives of the aggressor countries, which could lead to provocative actions on their part, both in and outside the Olympic Village;
- to report any provocative actions by Russians and Belarusians to the leadership of the delegation or a superior person;
- not to communicate on social media with Russians and Belarusians, not to participate in discussions with them, not to respond to their content, not to publish joint photos and videos;
- during award ceremonies, to distance oneself from any contact with representatives of russia and Belarus as much as possible, and to refrain from taking photos and videos together;
- refrain from joint participation in press conferences, live broadcasts, interviews and other promotional events;
- if an athlete of the national team of Ukraine is an employee of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and other military formations, he or she must additionally comply with the rules established by these agencies.
