Families of foreign soldiers in Ukraine can apply for remote payments: how to do it
Table of contents
Relatives of foreigners who are fighting for Ukraine can receive payments in the event of death, missing or captivity. Find out how to complete the documents to receive the money
The Ministry of Defence of Ukraine has developed an algorithm for remote payments to the families of foreign servicemen and women who were killed, missing or captured while fighting on the side of Ukraine.
Thus, families need to follow a step-by-step algorithm to receive security and other payments.
How to apply for payments?
To apply for all payments, applicants should contact the Ukrainian embassy in their country of residence to establish their identity and verify their legal capacity. After that, they should issue a power of attorney to their representative in Ukraine (lawyer, representative) to submit a set of documents to the TCC and JV and open an account in a public sector bank of Ukraine.
After that, the applicant needs to execute some documents - the list is as follows:
- an application in Ukrainian for financial support (in case of death);
- Funeral allowance (in case of death);
- a certified copy of the death certificate of the serviceman, which is certified in the military unit (in case of death);
- certified copies of documents confirming family ties with the serviceman;
- copies of identity documents of the family member;
- copies of documents confirming registration in the State Register of Taxpayers (for tax reporting);
- consent to the processing of personal data in Ukrainian;
- other documents if available.
The package of the above documents, including powers of attorney, must be sent to a representative in Ukraine, who must open an account with a state bank.
After that, the representative must come to the TCC and JV or military unit and submit the above documents.
Foreign nationals in the Ukrainian army
As is well known, under Ukrainian law, foreign nationals may serve in the Ukrainian army and take part in combat operations as volunteers.
For example, recently, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed a decree allowing foreigners and stateless persons to serve in the National Guard of Ukraine.
This branch of the armed forces will be open to foreigners who are legally resident in Ukraine, have no previous convictions and meet the requirements for military service.
It should be noted that many foreigners who share the values of Ukrainians and are willing to fight side by side for peace and global security are currently defending Ukraine. We told you about the conditions of military service in Ukraine for foreigners.
We remind you! The military of the Armed Forces of Ukraine can count on additional monetary allowances previously established by the government. Read how they are calculated here.
