Europe is once again gripped by a wave of strikes in the transportation sector. Trade unions and workers in the public transport, aviation and railroad industries are demanding better working conditions, higher wages and renewal of national contracts.

These protests will affect many countries, such as Italy, the Netherlands, France, and the UK, and may significantly affect transportation in November and December.

We will tell you when to expect inconveniences in the work of transport - further in the article.

Italy

In Italy, a large-scale strike of public transport workers is scheduled for November 8, which will last 24 hours. The action will begin at 5:30 am, limiting the number of bus and tram runs - approximately only 30% of drivers will work. A rally at the Ministry of Transport will be held at 10:30 a.m., where the unions (Filt Cgil, Fit Cisl, Uiltrasporti, Faisa Cisal and Ugl Fna) will demand better working conditions and more funding.

In addition, Italian air traffic controllers announced a strike on November 12, which will take place from 13:00 to 17:00, which could lead to flight delays at a number of airports. On November 29, baggage handlers and WizzAir employees are scheduled to strike at Milan airports, and on November 28-29, transport workers will hold a 24-hour strike, which may affect train traffic.

Netherlands

In the Netherlands, the railroad industry is preparing for new strikes after ProRail refused to meet the demands of the FNV trade union for a significant increase in wages. ProRail agreed only to an average increase of 5.2%, which does not meet the union's demands. In case of strikes starting November 11, rail service in the country could be disrupted, affecting both dispatchers and key railroad workers.

United Kingdom

Strikes by London Underground workers have been partially lifted due to concessions from the company, but a full agreement has not yet been reached. Negotiations with the Aslef union are still ongoing, and strikes are possible on November 7 and 12.

France

In France, easyJet employees continue their strike, which began in September and will last until December 16. Passengers should be prepared for possible flight delays and cancellations.
