The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has adopted two important draft laws that clarify and expand the grounds for granting a deferral from mobilisation. This was announced by MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak on his Telegram channel.

The details of the documents are described below.

Postponement for relatives of the dead or missing

The first adopted document, draft law No. 12104, concerns the settlement of legal uncertainty regarding the granting of a deferral to those citizens whose close relatives were killed or went missing while participating in hostilities.

The law grants the right to deferment to civilians who have been captured, as well as to those whose half-relatives (half-siblings) have been killed or gone missing. This law was voted for by 304 MPs.

Equal rights for military personnel

The second draft law, No. 11531, aims to ensure equality of rights and opportunities between men and women in the military. The document allows servicemen whose half-siblings were killed or went missing in action to be discharged from military service. The law was supported by 308 MPs.

Significance of the adopted laws

The new rules are aimed at strengthening social protection for citizens who have lost loved ones as a result of the war, as well as ensuring gender equality among military personnel. They are designed to reduce legal uncertainty in mobilisation and provide clear guarantees to those covered by these laws.

We remind you! Mobilisation reservations will soon be available in Ukraine under the new rules.
