How many companies have Ukrainians opened in Poland since the start of the full-scale invasion?

Since the outbreak of the war, a large number of Ukrainians have relocated or started businesses in Poland. Last year alone, every tenth business in the country was established by Ukrainian citizens. Find out how many businesses were opened by Ukrainians in total
After the start of russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Ukrainians were actively opening businesses in Poland. According to the Polish Economic Institute, cited by Slovo i Dilo in its infographic, in 2022, Ukrainian citizens registered a significant number of individual enterprises (analogous to the Ukrainian sole proprietorship), accounting for 6% of all new businesses in the country.

January-March: 700 companies
April: 847 enterprises
May: 1240 enterprises
June: 1448 enterprises
July: 1767 enterprises
August: 1955 enterprises
September: 2271 enterprises (a record year)

Increase in the number of Ukrainian companies in 2023
In 2023, every tenth company in Poland was registered by Ukrainians. Every month, our compatriots opened more than 2,000 individual businesses. The peak was in July, when 3116 companies were registered.

The situation in 2024
In the first half of 2024, Ukrainians continued to actively start businesses. According to statistics, every tenth business in Poland was established by Ukrainian citizens, and 77% of new companies registered by foreigners are owned by Ukrainians.

Main areas of activity of Ukrainian entrepreneurs
The majority of Ukrainian individual enterprises established in the first half of 2024 operate in the following industries:
1. Construction - 23%.
2. information and communications - 19%.
3. Other activities in the service sector - 12%.
