GASTRO FAMILY TOUR

Gastronomic journey through Kyiv: taste, history and emotions

The tour is conducted in Ukrainian, English or German, at your choice.

The price is per person, the price for a group of 2-5 people is calculated upon request by email to [email protected]

This is not just a restaurant tour. This is a walk where every dish has a history, and every location has a character. The tour passes through the most important corners of Kyiv: from Podil to Maidan, from gastronomic legends to modern gastronomic trends.

At the start of the tour, each participant receives a route map with space for stickers. At each stop, there is a sticker with a signature that reflects the essence of the experience.

STOP #1 — “Lyubchik”

Topic: Ukrainian oysters — a gastronomic symbol of modern Kyiv

We start easily and beautifully — with oysters grown in the Black Sea near the Tendrivska Spit. The taste with “merruyor”, the skill of opening, unexpected facts — this stop changes the idea of Ukrainian gastronomy.

What's happening:

- Master class on opening oysters

- Tasting with lemon, horseradish, beetroot or honey

- A story about the history of oysters in Kyiv: from the 19th century to the present day

Interesting facts:

- Oysters have been served in Ukraine since 2014 - the first to do so was at "Lyubchik"

- They are grown using French technology

- They change sex, hear the tides, and "sing" when opened

- They have 10 kcal, but are full of zinc, omega-3 and protein

Sticker: "I opened an oyster. And it - me"

A WALK IN THE VOZDVYZHENKA

Topic: Gastronomic past of Podil

This is a pause for a walk. We find ourselves in the heart of historical Podil, among streets named after artisans. Here the guide tells how in the 18th–19th centuries, mead was brewed here, gingerbread was baked, fish was smoked — and how this spirit is still felt in the courtyards.

What we learn:

- Street names: Kozhumyachka, Goncharna, Degtyarna

- History of the Vozdvyzhenska Church

- Remembrance of the Bulgakovs, who lived in the very house on the site of the current "Lyubchik"

- Legend of Mykyta Kozhumyak

STOP #2 — "Kanapa"

Topic: Taste that preserved history

This is not just a restaurant — it is a living archive. The house survived fires, wars, was transformed from a house of temptation into an artists' studio, and eventually became a center of Ukrainian author's cuisine.

What's happening:

- Tasting: lard in chocolate

- Ritual of wishes in an old fireplace

- Certificate for a Kiev-style cutlet (a gift for a future visit)

Interesting moments:

- The only wooden building that survived the fire on Uzvoz

- In the 19th century, there was a "house of temptation" here - an intelligent brothel

- In the 20th century — artists' house: some works remain under layers of paint

- RHCP and Boris Johnson visited here

Sticker: "A place where desires burn, and lard is in chocolate"

WALK TO MIKHAYLIVSKAYA PLOSCH

Topic: History in silence

Between Andriyivska Church, Zamkovaya Gora and Mikhaylivska Square we hear stories:

Why a church without bells

How Uzdyhalnytsia became a place for meetings at a distance

How the square became a symbol of struggle (Maidan, technology, protest)

STOP #3 — "The Last Barricade"

Topic: Taste of revolutionary memory

A restaurant-museum just under Independence Square. Here three revolutions — on the walls, in the concept and on the plates.

What's happening:

- Excursion of the space

- Master class on dumplings

- Lunch with Ukrainian dishes

Sticker: "I tasted the revolution"

WALK ALONG GORODETSKOGO STREET

Topic: Kyiv, which dreamed of being Paris

This is 405 meters of architectural sophistication. Modern, neo-Gothic, Renaissance. Buildings, fountains, a cinema, a theater - everything is like from a postcard from a European magazine.

STOP #4 - VATRA

Topic: Finale with fire and smoke

Fire - the Hutsul fire - unites, warms and completes the gastronomic journey.

We taste a unique dessert: smoked ice cream with caramelized bacon, served under bubbling smoke.

Sticker: "A place where even ice cream is exposed to smoke and fire."

Dates: daily

Held in Ukrainian or English.
